Responsibilities of Membership
Membership in the Alberta Future Art Collective comes with certain responsibilities to ensure the success and integrity of the group. By joining, you agree to:
- Serve as a Witness: The collective may request you to act as a witness and provide your signature to certify the creation of a work of art. This may involve attending via Zoom or, if possible, visiting the workshop where the art is being created. This service is unpaid, but your participation is vital.
- Participate in Voting: Occasionally, you will be asked to vote on art submissions as a group or collective. Voting may be done electronically via Zoom or through a ballot, as decided by the collective.
- Share Your Knowledge: You agree to provide at least one seminar, webinar, workshop, or course per year to share your expertise with the collective. While you can charge an entrance fee to cover material costs, this activity is a commitment to the collective and not intended as a money-making opportunity.
- Contribute to Charity: You agree to donate artwork or participate in charitable activities organized by the collective when called upon.
- Take Responsibility for Your Art: You acknowledge full responsibility for your artwork. If someone contacts you through the collective’s platform, you bear the sole responsibility for the safety of your art and the terms of any agreement. By joining, you waive the collective of any liability in such matters.
